Location Portraits

You have decided to book a Location Portrait, either for your family or as a special treat for you.

Well Gene Ashe Portrait Photography can arrange a photo session in one of your favourite places or I know of special, interesting and photogenic locations in London, Hampshire, Surrey, Kent and the Thames Valley areas. (I have also shot in the Americas and Europe but that’s a whole different story)

What do I do?

As an award-winning portrait photographer, I will talk you through how the session will run. We will take time to:

  • Explain the poses and work with you to achieve a pose that you are happy with.
  • We will Demonstrate the poses and yes, I will show you how the poses could be improved, we will get you to,
  • Imitate the poses until you are comfortable. Once you have imitated the poses you will then
  • Practice the poses in front of camera ready for the shots to be taken

Preparation, Preparation, Preparation

Successful Location portraits are achieved by giving some thought about what you will wear. We suggest that you wear clothes that have plain colours, limited patterns and styles, which can move with the times. If you bring a selection of clothes that either suit your mood or the impression that you would like to make, and I will help you choose on the day.

For children bring lots of food and even more items that they will concentrate on. Experience shows children will give us one chance to get that knockout shot so any distractions you may have will be welcomed.

If like me, you are a dog lover and you would like your dog or for that matter any of your pets photographed (a) please discuss with Gene Ashe Portrait Photography first and (b) be mindful that some locations restrict access dependent on the time of year. So, it’s always good to give us a call before bringing your pet.
