Congratulations on your engagement! Planning your wedding is an exciting time, but it can also be daunting when faced with so many decisions. Choosing your photographer is one of them!!

I know how to put you at ease if you’re nervous and I’m here to help every step of the way. You need a photographer with a relaxed approach while creating, natural and modern images. Who captures the fun, laughter, emotion and beauty of your wedding day in a relaxed atmosphere.

You will need a photographer who can capture key moments as well as the small interactions, like glances across the room, laughter, smiles and tears of joy! I want to create an atmosphere for you where apart from the formal shots you don’t even know I am there.

Support and precision planning are something you will need and is something I can bring to your day. It’s all part of the service and something I do for every couple no matter what package you book.

Our Wedding Package

There are three main styles of wedding photographers – Reportage – Traditional – Contemporary

So, what does this mean?

Reportage Photography

Reportage Photography is also known as photojournalistic or documentary photography. Your photographer stands among and around you and your guests capturing candid and spontaneous shots. Reportage style is all about reactions and emotions so expect your photos to tell the real story of your day. It can feel like the most authentic form of photography as there’s no posing.

Traditional Photography

Traditional or formal wedding photography is the classic posed look you see in conventional group shots of the couple and the wedding party. This involves plenty of direction from the photographer, but it also takes time and you might miss some of the action of the day. Your photos are likely to be a bit formulaic but will be beautifully shot and well-lit.

Contemporary photography

Contemporary photography will feel more like fashion or editorial photography combined with reportage. It’s ideal if you want fashion-led couple photos and an artistic approach to other shots.

My style is a combination of reportage and traditional where I work with you to capture the images you must have and the images you don’t know are being taken.

The ‘getting ready’ time is one of my favourite times on a wedding day. This is when the couple gets ready, separately or together, surrounded by their family, friends, and bridal party. No two weddings are the same, and no two preparation processes will look similar. During the getting ready time, I’ll be photographing a handful of different things. I usually start out with your wedding day details.

This includes:

  • Your engagement ring
  • Your future spouse’s wedding band
  • Your wedding dress, shoes and anything else that is special to you

This happens quickly and efficiently, freeing me up to begin documenting the actual getting-ready process.

What should you be doing? Having fun! Please don’t worry about the photography at all, that’s my job! My style is reportage and traditional in nature meaning that the moments you see in my online portfolio are real moments. My goal is for you to look back and see real moments, not staged ones!

If you are getting ready separately we need to allot time in the timeline for both of you to be documented. This is also something that most clients and I talk about extensively before the wedding.

If it’s the wedding of two women, do both women want equal coverage? If it’s the wedding of two men, the same question will arise. Where will you both be getting ready? When we talk about the timeline, we’ll go over the logistics of your day.

Don’t worry about trying to figure it out yourself, I can help you as much or as little as you need in terms of agreeing your timeline.

During the ceremony images will be taken which will allow you to look back on your day with pride. The standard walk down the aisle, first look, joining of hands and exchange of rings will be captured as well as the first kiss as a married couple and the signing of the register. (we work with venues before the event so we can ensure any limitations are discussed prior to the day)

The wedding magazines are full of lists which cover the must-have formal images for a wedding. Whilst I supply these your wedding is unique and as such I have ideas which I am happy to share with you but I work from your direction, (which invariably covers the must-have wedding shots list) What I don’t do is tell you which images to have, but I do tell you which images would work best and which location to use. To ensure your wedding photographs will be treasured

My wife was unsure whether to have a photographer at the wedding but after seeing the pictures Gene has done of our day we are so pleased we have. Gene was patient and calm, exactly what you need on a wedding day. He knew exactly how to get everyone together and we felt he had everything in control.

Gene thinks “out of the box” to get some of the most unique & beautiful wedding shots, even with the general shots Genes skills set makes them look amazing. We would personally recommend Gene for any event, he was there way before we arrived and was dressed that smart he could have been part of the groom’s party.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work and dedication to ensuring our pictures are unique and beautiful.

Gene, thank you for photographing our wedding, the photographs are amazing and our album is just what we wanted.

It was a long day for all of us! Your commitment, support and unstinting energy meant that we have photographs that we will treasure forever. We missed some of the background shots because we were facing the other way, but you captured the feeling of our guests and even managed to capture my uncle laughing, which is no mean feat.

Once again thank you, we will definitely recommend you if any friends are looking for a photographer
